Learn how to be a successful Business Coach!
A Coach in athletics is like a Coach in business…It doesn’t matter if
you are a leader in athletics, academics, the arts, or business. Great
leadership is universal. It has many of the same basic elements. The specifics
are different, at times very different, but the foundation that creates
a strong leader has many similarities. Here are just a few examples of
likeness between an athletic coach and a business coach:
Let’s work together towards positive
change!
- Both are results-oriented.
- Many goals are set to move forward effectively and efficiently.
- Both inspire their teams to motivate themselves to perform
- Both ask the team members to recognize each other’s individual importance
to the team effort.
“Coaching and it’s uniquely personal touch gets more out of people both
in job performance & in job satisfaction.”

Why would I want to learn how to be a successful
Business Coach?
Why not? Successful coaching creates a sense of personal accountability
where each person understands their responsibility to the team, has respect
for themselves and others, and offers their personal best. It builds enthusiasm
in which each person is empowered to use their unique skills, leading
to stronger self confidence, and more individual as well as team success.
It also opens up our team members’ awareness of team goals, the importance
of working together, and how we can learn form others. When our team leaders
understand the elements of successful Business Coaching our teams will
find more enjoyment from work, easier and more open lines of communication,
a stronger connection to the team, and overall better productivity.
How can a Life Coach support Business Coaches?
It has been proven that up to 70% more information will be utilized if
training is followed up with some form of support. Therefore, considering
a support system during the initial few months after training is a great
tool to optimize retention of the new skills. Once your team leaders have
been trained with the skills necessary to become great “Business Coaches”
you can either choose:
- Life Coaching which will support each team leader in a way that is
confidential and personal for each individual allowing them to discover
what works best and will lead them to the highest level of success.
(Creating the highest level of retention and success. About 90%)
- To move onto consulting with STAR Strategies
where we will observe and give feedback to team leaders during the implementation
phase. (Creating a greater understanding of how to implement new skills
but is not personalized to be successful with the unique skills of each
individual business coach.)
- To progress on your own. (Leading to the lowest level of retention.
About 20%)
How is a Life Coach different from a Business
Coach?
A life coach is trained as a business coach however the reverse is not
necessarily true. Business coaching is learned in a few hours with motivational
and team building skills that are useful to help our business teams be
more successful. Even though you will learn a few of the fundamental skills
that a Life Coach uses during the business seminar, the foundations of
the professions are different. As a life coach we go through extensive
training on how to ask effective questions that align each individual
with their core values and connect them to their “gut feelings” in order
to move the client forward in a transforming and affirming way. The client
sets the agenda and is not being told where to go. The client leads and
the coach supports them and makes them accountable. A Life Coach is there
to focus the client on his/her process of creating change, taking action,
and moving forward towards their desired dreams, goals, and aspirations.
A Life Coach has no agenda and goes where the client wants to go, acknowledging
and supporting every step along the journey. A Business Coach is taught
to help lead their teams to a desired outcome of the company. To meet
predetermined goals set by someone else. Although they have similar elements
they are very different. Angie is trained to do both!
